I am a farmer and I have been applying the traditional way throughout my whole life. Attending the training, I learned new methods of choosing paddy seeds to grow, systematically transplanting the seeds and others to ensure high yield paddy. I will apply the methods next season”, said a farmer who lost a considerable amount of paddy seeds due to late rains and high temperature during 2010 after attending the Crop Cycle Management Training.
CDA Agronomists and Veterinarians conducted capacity buildings of farmers and communities on agricultural production and livestock care in Bogale and Labutta Townships during 2010 and 2011 for growth and sustainability.
Technical training on agriculture, livestock, forestry, environment and micro and small business development for Nargis’ affected communities from targeted 40 villages in Laputta, Kyaiklatt and Bogalay townships, Ayeyarwady Delta were conducted from July to September, 2010 with UNDP assistance to generate incomes, build capacities and awareness of the communities.
After the trainings in the villages, ToT trainings were conducted for the best trainees from each village in Kyun KaLay Village, Bogalay Township.
